I was skeptical that my husband would be interested in using the conversation cards for more than one or two private car trips, but he actually picks for us to pull some cards and spend an hour talking, like when we were younger and getting to know each other. This set has helped us revisit topics we haven’t discussed since we were dating decades ago and before life with children changed a lot of perspectives on those things without us realizing it. It’s been interesting to notice how things shaped us, helped as discover things we never even thought to learn about, and even the fun ones like what we would do in dream situations like if we didn’t have to work, then what would we like to do (and then we take it further to once it’s an empty nest, etc.). The sturdy box makes it usable on road trips and evenings sitting by the fire pit, which is helpful as well, since sometimes sitting down for a talk isn’t quite right for your lifestyle or might make the partners feel defensive, whereas this can be cozy conversational starters that don’t involve “hot topics” which helps improve communication all the more IMO. We like that there are different categories that inspire conversations and learning interesting tidbits about life events that may not have seemed significant to tell during your relationship, but talking about them might help you understand why your partner handles things a certain way or even give you more insight into the nooks and crannies of their character. It’s especially nice that the developers made a color coding on the top of the cards, so it’s easy to grab the type of topic easily, if you have specific goals or want to avoid anything serious, etc. We like this so much we looked into the company’s other products and are ordering the teen version to improve communication with our preteen that turned into a challenging and angsty teen suddenly. It is always massively impressive to me when a company creates something that I then look into their other products, so an imaginary bonus star for that. I think this would make a wonderful gift for a bridal shower, wedding gift basket, or a holiday gift basket to another couple if you have the right kind of relationship. This isn’t one of those “we have problems, so this will help us quit yelling at each other” styles of conversation cards; this is all about rediscovering, revisiting, and deepening your relationship regardless how long you’ve known each other (for most of us at least). Sometimes we forget with all of the daily challenges that talking with our partner isn’t a chore to work in between taking care of the kids, the house, work, and all the “filler”. We both wholeheartedly recommend this set.

I got this for my husband and myself to play. My husband thinks it is silly, but I love it! It makes for some great conversation and laughter. It makes you really connect in the “now” instead of playing on your phone or computer or playing a video game. The cards and such are heavy duty and the questions are great!

My husband and I don’t need to ~rekindle~, but we do get bored having the same conversations on date nights regarding the news, kids, schools, work, etc. This is the best thing that refocuses the conversation on YOU (the couple) and requires some genuine consideration. If you have a very immature partner, some of these topics might work, but they’re all more aimed at partners with a relatively healthy dynamic already. My husband and I are best friends and giant children at heart, so these were a super fun addition to the household. I like pulling out a card at random times (some topics are a lil risqué but not vulgar, which we enjoy the surprise of finding) and asking him the questions, which always lead to either a quick, funny and lighthearted conversation, or sometimes they’re more in depth and we get a chance to reminisce with each other over weirdly obscure memories we hadn’t talked about in ages. There’s multiple genres of topics (values and needs, fun and joy, deepening connection, building each other up, understanding, looking back, and looking forward). Color coded, so you can pick cards from a genre of your choosing if you want to steer the conversation toward a certain mood. The pack is nicely packaged in a cardboard storage case, and it’s very compact and thoughtfully manufactured.Im usually disappointed that cards like these are cheap gimmicks and very… “google generate me 20 random discussions for couples” kinda thing. These aren’t.Additionally, very LGBTQ+ friendly. I have yet to find any cards that couldn’t apply to any kind of romantic relationship. In fact, you could use this deck with friends that you’d want to build a better connection with – very few cards would need removed that are distinctly romantic/sexual in nature. Super cool!

I’ve been with my husband 20 years, married 15 with 2 kids. For the bulk of married life we’ve been so focused on kids, that we’ve lost focused on each other. We’ve been in family therapy for about a year now, some sessions focus on our preteen and some on us. Our therapist suggested taking time to spend alone like going to lunch – we found that when we did, we still talked mostly about the kids. For our anniversary this year, I gave him these cards. They are really insightful, reflective, and we are learning about what the other thinks more than ever. They are great conversation starters about a variety of topics. You get 200 cards so there are plenty of topics to talk about. The cards are well made in a sturdy lift top box. Some of the questions include, “If you taught a seminar on marriage, what would be the most important thing you’d teach?” We were surprised at each other’s answers – he said communicating openly and giving honest opinions and I said focusing on each other amidst all the chaos. Another good one was “What do I do that annoys you the most?” It gave us things to think about that we could improve on. We’ve been trying to do 2 a day and it literally takes less than 5 minutes a day to open up in these conversations and get a better understanding of each other and what we can improve on. Highly recommended for couples who’ve been together a really long time!

These are great conversation starters, even if you don’t need to “rekindle” anything. It’s always fun to just ask your partner questions and think about questions with depth. These are nice and portable, easy to stick in a purse to take on a date night or bring in the car. Questions are fun and not repetitive.

These cards are great. They cover a variety of topics. I believe they may be better and more helpful than going to therapy. They help you open up and communicate with your partner in a positive way.

These days societal values are all over the place. The reigning “replacement theory” where people won’t fight together through struggles, but seek replacement like the perfect person is out there waiting for you without having to work on yourself to be a better partner and communicate what you expect is an illusion that has left many people hurting. There is no magical recipe for human interaction, but this is a GREAT way to start topics that might not come up to the top of your head right away.It has 200 Topics, and you can set your own rules on time you want to spend on each topic and write the important things down to review later. The cards aren’t exactly thick, but these aren’t playing cards so that should be alright, with minimal care, you shouldn’t have an issue with it, and for $29 that won’t even cover 20 mins with a couples therapy guided counselor you’re getting a great value here. All topics are relevant, and we cried a little bit when we visited some of them and wandered through our mistakes and successes and how they’ve built and broken us many times.Would recommend to anyone wanting to deepen their romantic relationships with their partners in love, or falling out of but missing what made you great together.

I’ve heard raving reviews about similar question / topic cards, so when I saw this listing come up, I knew I had to jump on it! I’m so glad I did. They are high-quality cards – each card the size of a standard playing card – and there are 200 in the box, along with a few cards that describe the purpose of the cards, the different categories (7 in this box, the cards are color-coded by category), and give you ideas on how to use them. They come in a nice, sturdy box to store them in. They would be a great gift, and the super wonderful thing about them is this company has many more topics of cards – not just relationship-building. My Husband and I do one card per day, and we choose the card randomly; we put the cards we’ve already done in the lid of the box to keep them separate. It has become one of our favorite parts of the day, because it gives us a spark to ignite a beautiful fire of deep discussion, and has definitely drawn us closer and helped us learn more about each other. I must say – we weren’t having major problems before we started doing these cards, but they have helped add a depth to our marriage I didn’t know was missing. I think they would be a wonderful “safe” way for a couple experiencing difficulties communicating to reach deeper levels of intimacy. If anything, they’re FUN and great conversation-starters!
