Best friends might make the best lovers, but can it last?
Patrick didn’t think it would be a big deal to kiss his best friend Brandon. Hell, they’d done crazier things to avoid a bar fight. But getting punched in the face would have been less shocking than how hot kissing Brandon is, and how much he wants to do it again. Patrick, after all, is straight. Or, at least, he thought so.
Destiny has never been afraid to ask for what she wants, and when she sees Patrick and Brandon together, she knows exactly what that is. She’s not interested in a commitment, but what could be more fun than exploring this with her best friends?
Brandon is a fool. He’s been in love with his best friends for as long as he can remember, and he knows a terrible idea when sees one, but he can’t resist. To complicate matters even further, he and Patrick are both cops, and are embroiled in an investigation that puts them, and Destiny, in an unknown enemy’s sights.
Now, the three friends have to fight for their lives—and their hearts.
Destiny Calls is an 90,000 word m/m/f romance with no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed HEA for everyone. It can be read on its own, but many of the characters appear in other books in Sam’s universe if you’re interested getting to know them better!.

Sometimes you just have to admit that life isn’t complete. The first time you kiss or the first time you make love. None of it is complete until you know the person you’re with is the one you love. You have to know yourself. That to be loved you must be able to love. This book brings that realization when all three people who are in love can’t admit it.What a wonderful story. It has three characters who are vulnerable and insecure who work through it to find completion in each other.Patrick, Brandon and Destiny have loved each other since they were teenagers. The definition of the word varies in meaning for each. Friends, family, lovers and soul mates. They are refuge to each other when life is rough and it was for all of them at one point or another.I want to say there was something wrong with this book so people who read my review don’t think I’m overzealous. When I read those types of reviews I always pass on it because I believe it is purely fan-based. Not this time. The story is not perfect. So you all can see I don’t have stars in my eyes. That was because I really didn’t know enough about the guys’ youths to be certain how they became the men they were. Thank God for Aunt Ethel who provided them with the knowledge that there could be love, life and family. Giving the reader this information balances out the lack of the rest. (Thus my opinion that there is nothing wrong with this book.)Get the book. Let it make you feel like love is for real, because it is, as long as you believe it can be.

Destiny, Brandon and Patrick have all been a self-selected ‘family’ since they were 15. They are always there for each other, as best friends. Until one day when a kiss (in a bar to prevent a bar fight) betwewen Brandon and Patrick results in very confused feelings for both of these guys. Destiny, who has had an ‘on and off’ relationship with Patrick for years has an epiphany and shares her idea with her boys. All three of them could become more than a trio of best friends. As the relationship of these three progresses, with all the emotion and tenderness and hotness you would expect to see, religious nutjobs create problems. There are break-ins, assaults, and even more. There is a pretty good plot to this story, beyond the romance and hot love. Honestly, at this point, I think I have read all of Samantha Wayland’s books. But when she has another come out, I will be pre-ordering. She is so good at this!

I never leave reviews unless I really feel the need to, and for this book I feel the need to tell everyone how AMAZING, HOT, EROTIC, and emotional that this book is. I loved the characters first off, Brandon (so sweet, caring, loved him from the first page), Denstiny (loved how she grew throughout the book and learned to accept what these men were going to give her), and finally Patrick (I wanted to shake him at times, but loved how the writer made it realistic the internal struggle he was going through).Ok so the characters wonderful, life time best friends (I loved that they had a history), Brandon has been in love with Patrick FOREVER, and finally when it surfaces you realize how HOT the 2 of them are going to be. Ok and that brings us to the sexy, steamy, hot, erotic, amazing sex scenes. So you have M/M, M/M/F,and M/F/M. I must say I LOVE the guy action in this book, I mean come on! 2 big, hot, sexy police officers going at it like they can’t help themselves had me wiggling in my seat.Bottom line, GREAT book, and a REALLY good story line and plot as well as amazing sex scenes.

An emotional, erotic triad love story that presents the issue of friends becoming lovers – always a hit in my book! The 3 main characters deal with attraction to each other, bigotry, societal norms and the courage to live and love freely. All of this is wrapped around a suspense plotline dealing with the mafia and those who deem it their right to judge and pass sentence on others. I enjoyed the dynamics of Patrick learning to accept his love for Brandon that went deeper than best friend status. His turmoil is depicted realistically and honestly. It takes longer in the book to uncover the demons in Destiny’s closet that explains her emotional distance but it is no less satisfying. I loved Brandon and his openness to his sexuality, love for his friends and the depth of that love that showcases his capacity for sacrifice. The plot moves well, the writing is engaging and the character development is spot on. This book is super hot and well worth a read!

Others have thoroughly outlined the plot so my contribution is simply heartfelt appreciation for characters I fell in love with, myself. From the outset Ms. Wayland’s development of the personalities and backstory for Patrick, Brandon and Destiny drew me in. This was a very believable story for me. While I agree with other reviewers who express doubt in the real world potential in some cases, it worked here because the disclosures were true to the personalities and deeply felt loyalties of these characters.Brandon’s experiences were especially gut wrenching for me and I felt an even deeper emotional connection to him throughout. I also enjoyed the handling of Destiny, the female character, as the commitment phobic; an interesting and well managed twist on the typical male version.I’ve reread this several times now and enjoy it afresh each time. I’ve also read and enjoyed the authors second title and have earmarked her for anything new she produces as I hope to follow her growth and, I would anticipate, continued positive reception by others.

Boy, what a trip. Three long time friends have loved each other since they were teenagers and helped each other thru all the hardtimes. Two in and out of a closer relationship, one bi and in love with one of the others. Then one night everything changes for good and bad. This book is a real page turner because of the three wanting a loving relationship and because their love causes danger to all three. The steamy parts are burning hot and the suspense adds a nice touch causing turmoil not just for their safty, but causes confusion between the three and their love for each other. They loved each other so long as friends, but is their love strong enough for a lasting, forever relationship or is their relationship wrong and they should remain just friends. I loved this book, and it took my breath away many times. What a great job this new writer has done and she is a welcomed addition to the genre.

As described by Patrick it also sums up this brilliant and beautiful love story. I think I have read must of Ms. Wayland’s writing and love each one of them. I like that they are full length novels so she is able to provide depth of character, well developed (suspense and romance) story lines, and space for all the hot sex scenes. Nothing ever feels rushed in her writing. Love that these triad is first based on deep loving friendship. The men, Brandon and Patrick, are exactly how you would want to boys to grow up to be – just plain decent and good hearted (may I add gorgeous). My poor Destiny you are exquisite and so damaged – but you can do this. Three beautiful people coming together to share Love Trust Friendship Passion and a hell of HEA. Cannot wait for SW next book! Bring it on woman.

Great read and worth the time. Held my interest from start to finish. Great story line, interesting characters, you could feel the love and experience the heat. I wanted more when the book was finished. Sexy and entertaining; I truly enjoyed the book very much. I look forward to reading this author’s other books. Hot and steamy sex scenes, loved the main characters and their relationship, entertaining and the chemistry is on fire! I loved them together both romantically and for the emotional bond that they both shared. Great character development along with story and it all wrapped up well.

(Don’t let the price deter you. It is worth it.)I’ve read this book twice now and both times I was taken in by the love that is and grows between all three characters.I’d recommend this book as one of the best menage books I’ve ever read. It’s not just about the sex (although that is wonderfully hot, hot, hot!) its about the discovery, the feelings invoked, the struggle to accept, the acceptance.I fell in love with all the characters and you will too. They have such strength, such courage and so much to give each other.

Purchased this book years ago, but I continue to come back. I’ve read it several times and still feel my heart strings pulled tight. Great characters I can relate to while still connecting to the horrible biases of the day. It may be a cliché but love conquers and so does this story.
